Ranges will exist 30 to 100 yards. He has a Browning Micro Hunter (20" barrel) in .243 Win. His dad is a .30-thirty kind of guy and I hunt with the .300 Southward......then this small diameter is new to usa. I would like your opinion on which 100 grain factory ammo is perfered for penetration/expansion on whitetails based on your real world experiences. Looks like my choices are Federal Power Shok (blue box), Remington CoreLokts or Winchester Power Points all in 100 grain offer. I know shot placement is KEY, merely bullet construction is the other half of the equation......right? Thanks!

Cadre-lokt bullets have done well in the same burglarize for me, but were handloads, and so it is difficult to compare the accuracy. Given the opportunity to handload the Fusion bullets, I would estimate they would shoot REALLY well, since the factory ammo printed just a tad over an inch at 100 yards. His granddad bought him 2 boxes of the winchester 100gr. they seem to work well on the coyote we seen at 230 yards. A loading guy i work with is a well known gunsmith type guy from where i am at suggested best factory box he's institute was remington core-lokts at 100gr. he told me 90-100 grn for deer, shouldn't have to go higher. he loads alot of .243 likewise. just what i've plant out in the concluding week with the new gun. i liked it.

Is it all copper? No. Information technology's "fused" with the lead core if I sympathize it correctly. I have i that was recovered in the hide on a fat buck I shot a few years agone. It went in behind the near shoulder, ripped up lung, and traveled through the spine and ended upwards in the cervix on the off side. It was juuuuust poking through the hide when I skinned information technology out. It is what I'm using in my .280 Rem (Redneck built) this year. It shoots 3 shots touching at 100 yds. Didn't mensurate them but it was good enough for me. Over the terminal 3 seasons, they have put a combined eight deer in our freezer, using nothing but 100gr Federal power-shok (Blue box), or 95g Federal Fusions.
